Discriminant

Discriminant determines how many solutions or x- intercepts, zeroes, and roots.

The formula:  Discriminant =b²-4ac determined from coefficients of the equation ax²+bx+c=0. The discriminant tells what type of roots the equation has.

Note: b²-4ac comes from the quadratic formula

  •  If the discrimant is greater than 0, then the relation have 2 zeroes.

  • If the discrimant is lesser than 0, then the relation have 0 zeroes.

  • If the discrimant equals to  0, then the relation have 1 zeroes.
